Dr Chen Ching Kit is a consultant paediatric cardiologist at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH). He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the National University of Singapore, and pursued post-graduate training in paediatrics and paediatric cardiology at KKH. He underwent two years of fellowship in paediatric heart failure and heart transplantation at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. His other areas of interest and expertise include exercise echocardiography, foetal echocardiography and 3D printing of heart models. Dr Chen is also an adjunct assistant professor with the Department of Paediatrics at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Mohammad Ehteshami is Vice President and General Manager, GE Additive (a startup), a division of GE Aviation. Richard Hague is Professor of Innovative Manufacturing and Director of the Centre for Additive Manufacturing at the University of Nottingham. Having worked in the AM field for over 24 years, he is internationally recognized both for scientific endeavour and creating impact though industrial exploitation where he has a background of leading and managing large multi-disciplinary, multi- partner research projects. Richard’s research interests are focused on AM specific processes, materials and design / design systems across a wide spectrum of industrial sectors with current research programmes focused on multifunctional additive manufacturing processes, materials and design system. Richard has received multiple international awards and honours and is also a co-founder and Director of Added Scientific Ltd, a spin out from the University of Nottingham focused on Additive Manufacturing technical solutions to industry.
Dr Henney has a PhD in Medicine and many years’ academic research experience, studying cardiovascular disease at the pathological, cellular, molecular and genetic level in laboratories in London, Cambridge and Oxford. He then moved into industry, spending 13 years with AstraZeneca. Ultimately leading global programmes exploring strategic
improvements aimed at reducing drug failure in development, he created and headed a new department that focused on pathway mapping and modelling, which evolved to establish the practice of Systems Biology, supporting projects in discovery and development.
Dr Henney has extensive experience in directing and managing large, complex teams across
disciplinary, cultural and geographic boundaries, latterly in the area of Systems Biology and Systems Medicine. His experience in this area led to an invitation to direct the major €50M German national flagship programme, The Virtual Liver Network. At the time, the largest Systems Biology programme in Europe, it involved management of over 200 contributing

Ayishwariya Menon graduated with an MEng. in biomedical engineering from Imperial College London, UK where she was awarded the Governor’s Prize, and the Student Centenary Prize. She went on to work for the Acrobot Company Ltd., UK in the field of orthopaedic surgical navigation and robotics. She further specialized in computer assisted surgery with her work at Materialise N.V, Belgium applying Materialise’s core technology of 3D printing to orthopaedic surgery. She has worked on a number of development projects on guided surgery and has spoken at various international conferences. She then spent a few years in her home country, Malaysia, heading up the clinical business for Materialise. Clinical Utility and Value of 3D printing at a Larger Quaternary Referral Center: The Mayo Clinic
Jonathan M. Morris, M.D. Co-director Anatomic Modeling Laboratory, and a member of the Division of Neuroradiology. Dr. Morris received an Innovation Award from the Radiology Department to develop 3D anatomic models in collaboration with Dr. Matsumoto and Joel Kuhlmann and the Division of Engineering in 2007.
In July 2012 Dr. Morris was a leader with Dr. Matsumoto of Pediatric Radiology and Linda Nesberg in establishing the Anatomic Modeling Laboratory within the Department of Radiology and currently serves as its co-director. The laboratory has produced over 118 models to date, mainly focused on complex surgical cases. Dr. Morris is actively exploring research, educational and forensic applications.
Dr. Morris’s neuroradiology practice includes neuroradiology, minimally invasive spine procedures, interventional oncology,
and pain management. Dr. Morris received his M.D. from Howard University College of Medicine in 2001. He completed a research fellowship with the NIH in 2001-2002 in the Neurosurgical Division. Dr. Morris did his residency and fellowship programs in Radiology and Neuroradiology at Mayo Clinic before joining the staff in 2007. He has authored and coauthored 55 peer reviewed journal articles, 20 conference proceedings and abstracts and two book chapters.
Stefaan Motte is Vice President and member of the Executive Committee of Materialise. He is General Manager of the Materialise Software, which develops and commercializes the company’s software product portfolio, and oversees key global partnerships across a broad range of markets. Motte also leads “Powered by Materialise”, a partnership program that allows companies in the 3D printing and manufacturing ecosystem to embed Materialise technology into their own solutions. Richard G. Ohye, M.D. is the Associate Chair of the Department of Cardiac Surgery and Head of the Section of Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery at the University of Michigan Medical School, and co-Director of the University of Michigan C. S. Mott Children’s Hospital Congenital Heart Center. The U-M Congenital Heart Center is internationally recognized as a leader in the care of patients with congenital heart disease, performing 500-600 open-heart and 1000 total operations each year.
Dr. Ohye’s current research activities consist of several projects through the Michigan Congenital Heart Outcomes Research and Discovery Program (M-CHORD), as well as being the co-Principle Investigator of the Section’s research activities in the NIH-sponsored Pediatric Heart Network (PHN). Through the PHN, Dr. Ohye is the Study Chair of the multi-institutional Single Ventricle Reconstruction Trial, the first multi-institutional randomized clinical trial performed in congenital heart surgery. He also has a strong interest in innovation and cardiac device development.
Mark Palmer is a Senior Principal Scientist leading Biomechanics and Modeling in the Core Technologies Group within the Strategy and Scientific Operations organization for Medtronic, plc. Dr. Palmer received his BS in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University, dual Masters in Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering as well as MD and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan. Following graduation, Dr Palmer worked as an entrepreneur for 3 years leveraging his custom, fully coupled, multiscale finite element modeling code for research and consulting in the areas of composites and the analyses of age related changes in skeletal muscle. Dr. Palmer then returned to academia serving for 5 years as a tenure track faculty member at the University of Michigan with dual appointments in Kinesiology and Biomedical Engineering. While serving as a faculty member, Dr. Palmer's research was focused on image-based modeling for Orthopedic injury mechanisms and procedures. In 2014, Dr. Palmer was recruited to Medtronic where his current role includes serving as an R&D Consultant and Technical Advisor for Medtronic Business Units world-wide, identifying and managing external collaborations, and leading the long range R&T strategy for human simulation.
Alireza Parandian leads the global business strategy for additive manufactured wearables at Materialise. After completing his PhD research in emerging technologies and strategy articulation at the Delft University of Technology, he co-founded a company called InnovationFab in 2012 where he gained extensive experience in facilitating the use of new technologies to create breakthrough product innovations and led multiple European funded projects on Digital Fabrication. Aalpen A. Patel, MD, FSIR
A physician engineer, active teacher and researcher, he has a special interest in 3D printing, machine and deep learning, mathematical modeling of biological processes, and informatics. He is the Chairman of Radiology for Geisinger Health System, Vice Chair of Informatics and Quality and the Medical Director for 3D Imaging and Printing laboratory. Dr. Patel has published 90 research articles, review articles, textbook chapters and abstracts and has given several lectures at regional, national and international radiology meetings.
Dr. Patel is an electrical engineer and clinically he is an Interventional Radiologist and his clinical research interests include dialysis access management and interventional oncology. He trained at Temple University Hospital and M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Patel began his career in 2001 as Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and an Interventional Radiologist at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Gil has over 20 years of experience in enterprise software and new product introduction for multiple vertical industries while working at SAP and numerous startups. Gil brings a rich and diverse background as a co-founder, investor and senior executive in 5 companies which were acquired. Three of the five companies were acquired by SAP AG. Thierry Rayna if a Professor of Innovation & Technology Management at Novancia Business School Paris. Beforehand, he spent 10 years in the UK, where he held positions at Imperial College London, London School of Economics, UCL and University of Cambridge. Thierry is a Digital Economy specialist and his research investigates the changes, often radical, that digitisation brings about to businesses, industries, and the economy as a whole. His recent research focuses on the transformational effects of 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing, in particular how this ‘new’ set of technologies disrupts business models and innovation ecosystems. Thierry has served as an advisor for companies in the cultural and creative industries, telecom, as well as policymakers. He also mentors start-ups (three of which are at the moment directly involved in 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing). Prof. Rayna is Associate Editor of the International Journal of Manufacturing Technology and Management.

Andreas Saar is a Vice President in the Manufacturing Engineering Solution business segment of Siemens PLM Software. In his current role, Andreas is responsible for the Additive Manufacturing Program Initiative within Siemens PLM Software which includes the definition, implementation and market introduction of a global end-to-end additive manufacturing solution based on Siemens software and technology.
In this role, Andreas also coordinates and manages Additive Manufacturing research, technology adoption, and partner / vendor relationships across Siemens business units.
Andreas has 30+ years of experience in manufacturing and software development. He joined the company in 1994 and has since then worked in various leading positions across product and business development with a focus on Digital Manufacturing.

Thomas Schouman, M.D., Ph.D., is a maxillofacial surgeon working at Pitié-Salpêtrière University Hospital in Paris.
The Department of Maxillofacial Surgery is the biggest facial trauma center and one of the top oral cancer treatment centers in France. Consequently, facial reconstruction is also a major field. Dr. Schouman is dedicated to reconstructive and orthognathic surgery and is leading the management of trauma cases. He was involved in the development of custom-made medical devices through a long-standing research collaboration with OBL-Materialise, which led to the routine use of such custom-made guides or implants since 2010 for fibula free flap reconstruction, orthognathic cases or trauma sequels for instance.

This team is responsible for many of the new product concepts and developments that happen on some of Jaguar Land Rovers most highly sought after vehicles. Mark has worked with many automotive OEM's helping them deliver both dedicated teams and new strategies for innovation development, as well as working to create some of the more technology driven projects that these companies produce.

Materialise Executive Vice President Bart Van der Schueren obtained a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) in 1990. After graduation, he served as a liaison between the university and the newly founded Materialise, and established the basic research activities for the company. After receiving a PhD in Metal Selective Laser Sintering, Bart officially joined Materialise in 1995 and led the development of its service bureau. Over the years, his dedication and expertise enabled the bureau to grow into one of the most prominent Additive Manufacturing facilities in Europe. Today, Bart is focused on production, engineering services and software development, and continues to be a driving force in the AM industry.
Materialise CEO Fried Vancraen began his career in 1985 after receiving a Master of Science in Electro-Mechanical Engineering. Working as a Research Engineer and Consultant at the Research Institute of the Belgian Metalworking Industry, Fried discovered 3D Printing. Passionate about this new technology, and firm in his belief that it could help create a better and healthier world, he founded Materialise in July 1990. Fried holds several patents related to the technical and medical applications of 3D Printing and remains committed to using the technology to make positive changes in people's lives. In recent years, Fried has been awarded the RTAM/SME Industry Achievement Award, the highest honor in the 3D Printing industry, has been selected as the most influential person in Additive Manufacturing by industry professionals and TCT Magazine, and has been listed one of the five leading players in his sector by the Financial Times. He is also the recipient of a 2013 Visionaries! Award from the Museum of Art and Design in New York.
Jos Vander Sloten (°1962) obtained his MSc and PhD in mechanical engineering from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven) in 1985 and 1990 respectively. Currently he is full professor within the Division of Biomechanics at KU Leuven. He chairs the Leuven Medical Technology Centre (L-MTC), which he founded in 2008. His teaching assignments are engineering mechanics, problem solving and engineering design, computer integrated surgery systems. From 2006 to 2012 he served as programme director of the Master in Biomedical Engineering at KU Leuven.
His research interests are computer applications in musculoskeletal biomechanics and computer integrated surgery, on which he authored more than 160 journal papers. He is member of the council of the Belgian Society for Medical and Biological Engineering and Computing, and a former council member of the European Society of Biomechanics. In the European Alliance for Medical and Biological Engineering and Science (EAMBES) he served as secretary-general (2003-2004), president-elect (2005) and president (2006). He was recently elected Founding Fellow of EAMBES.

Peter Verschueren has a Master in Electro-Mechanical Engineering Sciences, a one-year specialization in Biomedical Engineering Techniques and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Leuven.
He joined Materialise 9 years ago and is currently the Medical Product Director. His expertise and interest are rooted in medical imaging, image-based 3D reconstruction and 3D printing technologies, and their application in the clinical setting.
He manages the Product Managers responsible for both software and hardware-based medical applications. His international team provides the link between the user’s needs and the solutions Materialise can provide or develop.
He is author and inventor of multiple medical device innovations and related patents and ongoing patent applications.
Marco Viceconti holds the chair of Biomechanics at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Sheffield, UK, and serves as Executive Director of the Insigneo Institute for in silico Medicine (www.insigneo.org), a joint initiative of the University of Sheffield and the Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He is also professor associate in the department of Oncology and Metabolism. Prof Viceconti is an expert of musculoskeletal biomechanics in general, and in particular in the use of subject-specific modelling to support the medical decision. He is one of the key figures in the Virtual Physiological Human (VPH) community: he is the President of the VPH Institute, an international no-profit organisation that coordinates this research community, and has recently concluded the coordination of the Avicenna action, which road-mapped the emerging topic of “in silico clinical trials”, where subject-specific modelling is used in the development and assessment of biomedical products.

Dee Dee Wang, M.D., FACC, FASE, FSCCT is a graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency and served as chief medical resident at the University of Michigan. She completed her general cardiology fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital, and went on to do an additional fellowship in Advanced Cardiac Imaging with an emphasis on structural heart and transcatheter valve replacement therapies.
Dr. Wang is a Level 3 Cocats trained in Echocardiography (with 3D TEE), Nuclear, and Cardiac CTA; and a Level 2 Cocats trained in Cardiac MRI and Cardiac PET. She specializes in Interventional Imaging in Structural Heart Interventions including Transcatheter mitral valve replacement therapies, tricuspid interventions, mitral e-clip, complex TAVRs/adult-congenital cases, LAA interventions, and ASD/PFO closures.
Dr. Wang’s research interests are focused on advancing patient safety and procedural outcomes utilizing 3D+4D imaging and 3D printing for high-risk Structural Heart Interventions. She is currently the Director of Structural Heart Imaging at Henry Ford Hospital’s Center for Structural Heart Disease, Medical Director of 3D Printing at the Henry Ford Innovations Institute, Clinical Assistant Professor with Wayne State University’s School of Medicine and the Director of the Cardiac CT CoreLab at Henry Ford Hospital’s Center for Structural Heart Disease.
